A philanthropic couple with a large family hired us for the interior design of this new construction home with adjoining 3-bedroom Guest House. They wanted a home that had a wonderful flow for hosting their large family as well as formal events. As a vacation home, they envisioned a laid-back vibe with moments of formality that took full advantage of the ocean views. The large open-plan Kitchen was scaled for a woman who loves to cook while mingling with guests. Private spaces were designed throughout, from reading nooks with daybeds to window seats. The children’s wing has two private bedrooms, a shared TV lounge, and an upper-level square clerestory space with four beds and wraparound views. High gloss paint is used throughout to make the millwork sing and a soft pastel color palette reinforces the home’s casual yet elegant demeanor. A large dining deck and fireside outdoor lounge overlook breathtaking ocean views.
